Message from the Principal

Dr. Jason Lim

Discipling servant leaders to impact the world for Christ.

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”
(Mark 10:45)

At the dawn of a new year and a new semester in 2026, on behalf of Malaysia Bible Seminary, I sincerely extend to you my warmest greetings and peace in the Lord.

As we look back on the past years, MBS has experienced various challenges and adjustments along our journey of ministries. Yet, at every stage, we have witnessed God’s faithful presence and His gentle leading. As the Psalmist declares, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” Do continue to uphold us in your prayers so that, by His grace and sustaining hand, we can stand even firmer in the future!

With a grateful heart, I am pleased to share an encouraging update. This semester, we welcome a total of 44 new (non-online) students; 20 from the English Department and 24 from the Chinese Department studying at our campus. This number does not include those enrolled in various non-full-time programmes, such as our MBS International Department’s Certificate and Graduate Diploma, as well as the Master in Ministry/Pastoral Ministry in Discipleship training; nor does it include students in the Chinese Department’s certificate, Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry programmes. We give thanks to the Lord, for every new student is a testimony of His calling and entrustment. Their presence reminds us that, in this generation, God continues to call individuals to respond to His voice, to be prepared, and to offer themselves willingly for His service.

Over the years, MBS has remained steadfast in a clear and unwavering direction: Discipling servant leaders to impact the world for Christ. This is not merely a slogan, but the core mission we uphold in both theological education and spiritual formation. We firmly believe that the ultimate goal of theological education is not merely the transfer of knowledge or the training of ministry skills, but the transformation of lives, so that individuals may become more like Christ, reflecting His character, mindset, and attitude in service.

In the Great Commission, our Lord Jesus commands us to “make disciples of all nations.” This reminds us that the responsibility of both the Seminary and the Church is not only to bring people into the faith, but to walk alongside them in a lifelong journey of transformation and renewal. Discipleship is not a short-term programme, but a lifelong discipline; not merely a one-way instruction, but life-on-life accompaniment and influence.

Throughout the learning and ministry journey at MBS, we desire that every faculty member and student be firmly grounded in truth, to grow and mature within the community, and be sent out with a purpose in Christ. Whether in the classroom, in the church, or in various sectors of society, our hope is to nurture servant leaders who are humble in service, faithful in commitment, and who bear witness to Christ through their lives.

At this juncture, I would like to offer a special exhortation to our current students: cherish your time of equipping at MBS! Do not merely focus on completing your studies, but allow the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit to deeply shape your lives. To our dear alumni, may you continue to live out the life of a disciple in your respective ministries, becoming a blessing to both the Church and society. And to all our faculty and staff, may we serve in unity and faithfulness in our respective roles, becoming examples in the lives of our students.

Looking ahead to 2026, we will continue to move forward steadily with discipleship at the center of our mission. I am confident that as we walk together in obedience to the Lord’s leading, He will accomplish far more than all we ask or imagine.

May the Lord grant us wisdom, patience, and love, so that MBS may continue to be a “spiritual garden” in this generation—nurturing servant leaders, blessing the Church, and impacting the world.

May the Lord renew your minds, strengthen your calling, and keep your first love for Him alive in your service. May you abide in Him even in the midst of busyness, and may He grant you heavenly wisdom to guide your path, so that in every stage of your learning, ministry, and life, you may experience His real presence and abundant grace.
